Roger E. (Ned) Rusk, Jr. left us on January 4, 2019 to be with his Lord and Savior. He died peacefully at Morningside House in Leesburg, VA. Ned was born in Leesburg, VA on May 7, 1926 and was the son of the late Roger E. Rusk, Sr. and Ruth Hutchison Rusk. He served in the hospital corps in the US Navy from 1944-1946 and then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC for many years. He was predeceased by his beloved, Juanita Schumaker, of Arlington, VA and also leaves a Goddaughter, Betsy Rusk Thomas Critzer, of Earlysville, VA. Ned was a lifelong member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Ashburn, VA, where he had served as a deacon and in many other capacities. Ned was blessed with many special friends from his Mt. Hope church family, where he was much loved and blessed by a lifelong faith and relationship with his Lord. He will be fondly remembered for his amazing kindness and generosity to all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg.

***A graveside service is scheduled at National Memorial Cemetery in Falls Church, VA on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 11am, with Pastor John Zoller officiating. A subsequent memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 3pm, at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Ashburn, VA.
