IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Romely Ramos
Prado
January 8, 1977 – April 27, 2025
Romely Ramos Prado was born on January 8, 1977, the fourth of seven children of Libertino and Sharon Ramos. She grew up in Daet, Camarines Norte, where she studied until high school.
After graduating from the University of the Philippines with a Tourism degree, she worked in the hotel industry. Later, she moved to Singapore for two years before migrating to the United States.
In the U.S., Rome pursued further education in International and Paralegal Studies. She was employed as an immigration paralegal for the law offices of Sarabjit Singh, then EIG, and finally BAL.
Early in her life, she expressed her faith in God through action by becoming a youth catechist, a choir member, and later an active member of the United Methodist Church.
In 2022, Rome was diagnosed with cancer. She underwent multiple surgeries and several rounds of chemotherapy. Throughout her journey, Rome held onto her faith and showed remarkable courage and resilience in her fight against cancer. Rome was guided by her favorite Bible verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 – "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Rome lived life with joy and purpose. She loved to sing and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, often doing karaoke. She loved to eat and prepare food for loved ones and was a very capable baker. While quiet and reserved in public, she was neither timid nor shy. Among family and friends, she was warm, kind, and gentle.
Rome was gifted with beauty, inside and out. She enjoyed being with children and was a doting aunt to her nephews and nieces. At family gatherings, she would often plan activities and ensure everyone participated in games and received prizes. She would surprise family, especially her nephews and nieces, with gifts and trinkets from her travels.
Her happy disposition, her calming strength in the face of adversity, and her love for cooking, travel, and caring for her plants were mirrored when she met her husband, Dan. They shared 12 happy years together.
She is preceded in death by her father, Libertino. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan; her mother, Sharon; siblings, Rhea, Romina, Rachel, Ronald, Rica, and Ronbert; and her nephews and nieces, who will always treasure the memories shared with her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in their hearts.
