Ronald "Ron" Lee Olinger, 75, of Leesburg, passed away on June 8, 2025. Born in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Margaret Kaylor Olinger and John Olinger.
Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife, Deborah "Debbie" Olinger (Stone), and leaves behind: his son Wesely Olinger, daughter Stacey Leach, son-in-law Tate and granddaughter Elli. He also leaves behind his dear brother, John Olinger, sister-in-law Diane, and niece Carol Coakley (John) as well as great nieces and nephews.
Ronnie spent his formative years in Riverdale, Maryland, and cherished summers in New Market, Virginia on the family farm. He was an avid Boy Scout, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and even delivered a speech on the National Mall for the National Boy Scout Jamboree.
An alumnus of Northwestern High School and the University of Maryland, Ron pursued a career in banking, notably at Round Hill National Bank in Round Hill and Independent Bank in Manassas. He played a vital role in implementing modern banking systems and took special pride in introducing customers to Purcellville's very first ATM. He was frequently seen commuting to work in a full suit atop his beloved Honda motorcycle. Never one for a conventional path, Ron later embraced new adventures as a long-haul trucker and a U.S. letter carrier.
Ron shared countless boating adventures with his brother exploring The Chesapeake Bay. Together they navigated the entire bay, every tributary and lighthouse. As a champion of the open water Bay Bridge swims, Ron helped establish safety flotillas—an initiative that continues today.
Ron will be remembered for his kindness, unique sense of humor, convictions and dedication.
