Ron Nichols, 80, of Ashburn, VA passed away Friday September 11, 2015.
He was born July 29, 1935 in Harrisonburg, VA to Charlie and Edna Nichols.
Ron led a full life. He retired from flight operations at United Airlines, retired as a FAA air traffic controller in the Leesburg center, and was an United States Air Force veteran. In addition to completing high school in Lynchburg, VA he earned a Bachelors degree from Southeastern University in business while working as a full time air traffic controller. During his career he was also an instructor at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include Janet Klinger, children Jeff and Lisa Nichols, sister June Hunt, and his favorite aunt, Stella Smith.
Services will be held Thursday, September 17th at 1:00pm at the Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA as well as Saturday, September 19th at 11:00am at Whitten Funeral Home in Lynchburg, VA.
