On September 16, 2012 just two days shy of her 91st birthday, Rosa passed away in Front Royal Virginia. She is survived by her three children; Dorthea Orfino, William Alfano, and Cathy Brishcar, five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Rosa was very active in both the Sterling United Methodist Church and the Leesburg chapter of the Rebecca's. She was well known for her charitable work and especially enjoyed the annual candy making fundraising events at her church. In addition to her church work she enjoyed being with family especially on holidays, social gatherings and occasional travel. During her life she endured much with both grace and courage. She will be missed but continued to be loved by many.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. A service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 East Church Road, Sterling, Virginia 20164.

The family requests that anyone wishing to offer a remembrance do so through the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
