Ruth Eloise Patrick Prisutti, 65, a resident of Waterford, Virginia since 1972; beloved wife, mother, sibling and friend, died peacefully Tuesday June 15, 2010. She was born in Elizabeth City, NC to Delbert Thompson Patrick and Constance Aster Stillman Patrick. A graduate and National Honor Society Member at Creswell High School class of 1962, Ruth was a property manager for a brief time in Washington, DC. After marrying in 1964, she was a successful homemaker and crafts hobbyist for 46 years. She enjoyed television, music, art and flower gardening, and was also a skilled seamstress. The great granddaughter of James Atwood Stillman and Eloise Davenport Stillman, founding members at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, in Roper, NC, Ruth was baptized and attended Sunday School there. Ruth was a kind and giving person who treasured the dearest things in life: a good joke, a beautiful poem, a melodic song, a fragrant flower and the people around her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Gloria Bigley of Palm Springs, California, and Madeline Hughes of Orlando, Florida. She is survived by her husband Matthew of Waterford, VA; daughters Anna Marie Prisutti of Germantown, MD, and Susan Poplin of Tallahassee, FL; three grandchildren also of Tallahassee, FL; and a brother Delbert Thompson Patrick, Jr. and family, in Suffolk, VA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 26, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Waterford Baptist Church, Waterford, VA.
