Ruth M. Reynard passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital.

She was one of 13 children to William and Maud Carl (both deceased). Ruth was born April 9, 1938 in Shamokin, PA and her family moved to Northern Virginia when she was 3.  She graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA and went on to complete a 1-year program at secretary school. From there she went on to work for the US State Department for 17 years and subsequently her husband's business for 25 years.  Ruth had a passion for sewing, needlepoint, crochet and knitting.  She was strong in her faith in God and was very generous with her time and abilities.  Ruth donated her time by crocheting/knitting hats for the cancer unit at INOVA Loudoun Hospital, teaching others to crochet and knit. She also donated time to work on quilts for the wounded warriors.

Ruth was predeceased in death by her parents and husband of 41 years, Robert H. Reynard.  Surviving are her daughters Renee Reynard, of Purcellville, VA and Robin and husband, Stephen Hendrickson, of Ranson, WV, sister Gladys Carl of Arlington, VA and brother Philip Carl of Canton, OH.  Grandchildren Denise Koehler (24) and Gwen Hendrickson (10), and extended family.
