Samuel (Sam) R. Pearson, 51, died April 24, 2009 of acute coronary failure, at his parent's home in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was born August 23, 1957 in Leesburg, Virginia to parents James L. and Canary S. Pearson. He had moved to Duncan, OK in 2004.
Sam graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1975. He served in the U. S. Navy Seabees from 1975 to 1981, stationed around the world at bases in Diego Garcia, Spain, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. He was last employed by M. C. Dean as a certified electrician working at such sites as the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport and the Pentagon. His interest was antiques, especially searching for and acquiring locally made Waterford furniture.
Sam is survived by parents, James L. and Canary Sutphin Pearson of Duncan, OK and Lovettsville, VA; brother James Stephen Pearson of St. George, ME; sister Joy Pearson Gurevitz of Lovettsville, VA; and sister Faith (Beth) E. Pearson of Lincoln, VA, two nieces, two nephews, a great niece, a great nephew, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at Colonial Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Leesburg Union Cemetery.
