Sandra (Sandy) Lee Ann Loftis, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister passed away on February 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband, Lee, and her beloved three sons, Christopher, Nicholas, and Scott.

Born September 2,1949 in Rochester, NY, she was the late daughter of Bernard and Jean Radel. She attended The Academy of the Sacred Heart and continued her education at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri earning a bachelor's degree in Art.

Sandy started her career as an art teacher before becoming a successful real estate agent in 1989. She was an active member of the Dulles Area Association of Realtors, as well as a volunteer coordinator for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Sandy was a long time Virginia resident who touched many people throughout her life; well known for her many kindnesses, her warmth, and engaging personality. Her involvement with the community was impactful and meaningful, whether it was fundraising for JDRF, participating in clothing drives for Women Giving Back, or mentoring fellow realtors. Sandy was a talented artist who founded and hosted an annual craft show, The Blue Goose. She had a passion for watercolor painting and often gave these treasures to friends and family. Sandy's greatest pleasure came from being with her family. She loved attending sports activities of her two oldest grandchildren, Chase, and Blake.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Horace "Lee" Loftis; her beloved sons, Christopher (Johnna) Loftis, Nick Loftis, and Scott (Jessica) Loftis; her grandchildren Chase, Blake, Miller, and Violet; her sister, Patricia (Les) Krupp, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Michael Radel and Jean Ann Radel (Ciufo).

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA with a celebration of life immediately following at the Leesburg Station 1 Firehall located at 215 Loudoun St SW, Leesburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers she would want nothing more than for donations to be made in her name to support JDRF and the research being done to find a cure for T1D.
