Sarah Jane Lindsey, 68 of Leesburg, Virginia died peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 15th, 2015. Sarah was born in Leesburg on April 15th 1947. As a young girl she traveled extensively with her family while her father Lewis (Luke) Jenkins served in the U.S. Army. Sarah graduated with honors from Loudoun County High School in 1965. Sarah was a long time employee of The County of Loudoun, Department of Planning.

Sarah greatly enjoyed the outdoors; gardening, trail rides on her horse "Teddy" and long drives in the country where she was always on the hunt for that special work of art or antique. She also enjoyed quilting, genealogy, family dinners and spending time with her grandsons. Sarah was an active member of Elijah Gate Christian Center in Leesburg, Va.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father Luke Jenkins, her stepfather Don G. Huckleberry, her sister Rebecca Lew Jenkins and her beloved dog, Brody.

She is survived by her mother Ruth Cunningham Huckleberry of Strasburg, Virginia, her stepmother Mary Parks of Ellijay, Ga., her sisters Ruth Wolfinger of Hagerstown, Md. and Jennifer Jenkins of Berryville, Va. , by three brothers David Jenkins, Jonathan Jenkins both of Bluemont, Va and Joshua Jenkins of Marianna, Fla., her son Jerome Ericson Lindsey, her grandsons; Josef Elias Lindsey, Brant Ericson Lindsey, Reese Calden Lindsey, all of Laramie, Wy., seven nieces, two nephews, extensive family members, and one sweet little dog, Toddy.

Sarah was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176 where a funeral service will immediately follow. Burial will follow the service at Ebenezer Cemetery in Airmont, Virginia.
