Solomon Abraham Selby was born on October 13th, 2008 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, New York. He was the son of Scott and Tajuana Selby. On Tuesday evening, June 25th 2014, at Loudoun County Hospital, Solomon was called home to be with the Lord. At 5 years 6 months old Solomon Abraham had a determined, fearless, and compassionate spirit. He lived life as though tomorrow never existed. Solomon taught us how to live in the moment. He lived up to the biblical meaning of his name, Solomon meaning "wise" and Abraham meaning "leader". Solomon was baptized in Peekskill, N.Y. in October, 2009. Solomon was such a free spirit and loved competing in different sports; football, basketball, soccer, and Taekwondo. Football was his favorite and although it was flag football, often times Solomon couldn't help but get a few good tackles in. His team, the "Trojans", went undefeated this year and he brought home a trophy which he refused to let out of his site. He loved building Lego's, riding bikes, snow-boarding and believe it or not making rubber band bracelets. He was an excellent student that excelled in all of his academics and made the Honor Roll, graduating from kindergarten with a 3.85. Solomon was a force to be reckoned with. He enjoyed every second of every moment and lived life to its fullest. He never traveled a straight path, but enjoyed every moment and always got to his destination right on time…his time. Although we can no longer see Solomon in the physical sense, his faith, being, and presence lives within us. He lives within his loving parents, Scott and Tajuana, brother Elijah, grandparents Lionel and Johanna Lewis, and Lawrence and the late Laura Selby, aunts Daphne and Darlene Selby, uncles and their wives Dayne and Tiwanna Lewis, Rodney Selby, Tracy and the late Douglas Selby; cousins, Nijee Jones, Dayne Jr. and Sinaya Lewis, Dion Selby, Shanae and Cherissa Kidd, the late Douglas Selby Jr, Chaniya, Nisa, Joshua, Laura, and Sierra, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Community Church, 19790 Ashburn Rd, Ashburn, VA 20147. Burial to be held in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
