GOTTSCHALK
Stasia D. Gottschalk
of Leesburg, VA formerly of Dumont, NJ and Ridgewood, NY passed
away on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Beloved mother of Walter (Bob) Gottschalk
and Jeanette Breun (pre-deceased), mother-in-law of Albert G. Breun,
grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 13.
A fiercely independent woman, Stasia lived in her own apartment until
the age of 95. A true city woman to the core, she never drove a car in her
entire 98 years of life. Full of wisdom, humor, and wit, her approach
was often so subtle and self-effacing that at times these gifts
went unnoticed or unappreciated until sometime later.
She was greatly loved by those who knew her, and she will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 14 from 6pm to 8pm
at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA.
Interment will take place on Saturday, July 23, at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
