Sun Kim Taylor, born September 6, 1939, in Seoul, Korea, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026. She had spunk, style and was fiercely independent. A savvy businesswoman who—alongside her deceased husband, Pat Taylor—built thriving restaurants from the ground up. With a sharp mind and a tireless work ethic —a true tiger mom—she was always planning and balancing our lives. She loved her Korean Soap Operas and eating her beloved white rice.

Sunny is survived by her devoted daughter, Julaine Simmons, and her cherished grandchildren, Taylor Simmons, 22, and Wyatt Simmons, 21. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 13 at Colonial Funeral Home followed by her burial at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA. Family will begin receiving guests at 12:30 PM with the service to begin at 1:00 PM, and the burial to immediately follow.
