Susan Harper Hamblet was born in California, on October 1, 1957. She was the daughter of James Darwin Hamblet of Canby Oregon and Mary Elizabeth Harper Hamblet (Betsy) of Leesburg Virginia. The family moved to Baltimore Maryland in the early '60s.
Her brother Matthew Lewis Hamblet was born, soon after the family moved back East. In the late 60's Betsy moved back to Leesburg with the children and Susan remained a resident of Leesburg for over fifty years, until her death July 08, 2024.

She enjoyed working outside and with others. She was a lover of pets and worked as a dog show handler for a few years.
Susan's childhood, and later years were filled with loving grandparents, friends, and family, including many honorary aunts, uncles, and cousins, by friendship. She remained close to many her entire life and lasting friendships were made after childhood. Susan had a big heart and was a generous spirit to all. She loved sports and sports statistics and was known as the most competitive in the family, especially around regular games of cribbage.
Susan's father, Jim, mother, Betsy, and brother Matthew predeceased her. She is survived by her
older brother, William Randall Hamblet (Randy) and her sister-in-law, Susan Swink Hamblet and brother-in-law, Samuel H. Rogers. She is also survived by a loving niece and nephew, Elizabeth Lee Hamblet and William Franklin Hamblet (Will). She was very proud of them both.
There will be an interment of Susan's ashes, at the Union Cemetery in the Harper Family Plot.
