Susan Jane Hayes

Susan Jane Hayes was born December 31st, 1947 in Bryn Mawr, PA to John Young and Rita Dolan Young. She attended Cardinal O'Hare HS. She married C. Thomas Hayes III on April 18th, 1970. She began a career as a dental assistant, which lasted many years, before she switched careers to become a Special Needs Teachers Assistant.

She had a passion for spending time with her beloved Grandchildren, gardening, volunteering for numerous organizations and breeding Gordon Setters. She could often be found spending time at all of her Grandchildren's school and sporting events. She was always their biggest cheerleader.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents and her husband and is survived by her sister Mary Carol Godino of Hershey, Pa, her 3 Daughters; Laura Hayes (Dan Konopka) of Reston, Va. Sarah Kurtz (Bill) of Ashburn, Va and Suzi Guzman (George) of Ashburn, Va. Her Grandchildren; Jack and Sam Guzman, Logan Konopka and Sabrina, Ava and John Kurtz. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, dear friends and her beloved dog Penny.

There will be a viewing on April 24th from 6-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday April 25th at 11am, and a 10-11am viewing at St Theresa's Catholic Church, 21371 St Theresa Ln, Ashburn, VA 20147. Following her mass there will be a luncheon at her Daughter Sarah's home, 42874 Deleon Dr, Ashburn, VA.
