Susana Castillo-Savinovich

Susana Castillo-Savinovich passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in her home.

Born on September 10, 1941, Susana spent much of her life in Peru, where her vibrant spirit, strength, and devotion to family shaped the woman we all knew and loved. In the 1990s, she bravely began a new chapter, moving to the United States with her family and making Virginia her home. Starting over in a new country was not easy, but Susana was never afraid of hard things. She faced every challenge with courage and determination, quietly carrying the weight of whatever needed to be done and always finding a way forward.

She was resilient in a way that can’t be taught. Life tested her, and she rose to meet it every time. If there was an obstacle, she pushed through it. If something seemed impossible, she figured it out. Her strength was steady and unwavering, and it became the foundation her family stood on.

She was the deeply cherished mother of Silvia, Maria, Diego, and Juan, and the proud, adoring grandmother of Bryan, Nicole, Hailey, Alexa, Esme, Mateo, Ruby, and Grace. Nothing brought her more joy than her family, especially the sound of her grandchildren laughing nearby.

She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Vladimir, Mercedes, and Ezequiel, with whom she shared a lifelong bond rooted in love, loyalty, and cherished memories.

Susana will be remembered for her warmth, her playful spirit, her love of celebration, and the countless joyful moments she created for all of us. She taught us strength by example, showing us how to persevere, how to keep going, and how to always find a way.

We will think of her with every scratch-off ticket, every celebratory toast, and in all the happy moments we continue to share together as a family. Her resilience, her laughter, and her love will stay with us always.
