Obituary

Teagan Marie Hinesley (aka Teag, Teagy, Teags) was born on May 23, 2015, during a Rangers playoff game, much to her fathers despair. When it was time to go to the hospital and Chris packed Natalie's bag, she said to him in distress before leaving the house, "I don't think I'm ready to bring home a baby". After meeting Teagan on the day of her birth, that statement became suddenly senseless. Chris and Sarah, her first nurse, found a guardian angel pin on the elevator floor on the way down to the NICU after Teagan's birth. This was just one symbol of Teagan's Godly existence. Chris and Natalie went from being "unprepared" to care for a healthy child, to becoming overly capable of caring for a child with very intricate needs.

Teagan was an extraordinary little one, whose strength and perseverance shined and radiated to everyone around her. Although she was not given the capabilities of most children, she surely let her parents know what she enjoyed and what she did not. Teagan's expressions spoke for themselves and seemed to have a direct line to her parents hearts and intuitions. Teag's doctors had questions on whether or not she would live through her first night of life, and then her first winter, and then beyond her first birthday, but Teag refused to allow them to be right. She was just as stubborn as her mother. Teagan quickly became an inspiration to everyone around her. Uniting families, defying her odds, and showing loved ones what it truly meant to appreciate life and all of the gifts that the world had to offer. Teagan had every reason in the world to give up, but that would not be her way. Teagan was along for the ride of life, and happily accompanied her parents and their family dog, Max, to parks, wineries, breweries, restaurants, beaches, creeks and on hikes and walks. Teagan taught her parents that she would not allow them to feel sorry for her or allow others to pity her, which in turn encouraged everyone around her to see the world through new eyes. Small worries faded away and the world suddenly made sense. A stranger once described Teagan as being so beautiful that she was transcendent, almost out of this world. Teagan was truly a blessing and had the most couragous heart, holding strongly and passionately to life.

Nothing was unplanned or undetermined in the world that Teagan introduced to her family. Teagan fought bouts of sickness, overcompensated for disabilities and gave her family 16 months of pure happiness and learning. Teagan entered the hospital on her Aunt Laura's birthday, September 10, 2016. Teagan's parents brought her home on Monday, September 12th, to spend the rest of her life with her loved ones. Teagan passed away on her Godmother Natalie's birthday on September 14, 2016 at 2:20 PM, February 20th being her father's birthday. If Teagan has left anything in this life, it is the lesson that nothing is within our control, and there are no random occurrences. God's plan for Teagan continues and she has peacefully been released of all of the short comings that she faced in this world.
