PUTNAM, Thekla (nee Polley) Age 91, of Gainesville, VA passed away on July 16, 2022. Beloved wife of late John G. Putnam Jr; devoted mother of James Putnam; sister of Raymond Polley; mother-in-law to Noelle Putnam; also survived by nieces, nephews and step-children. Thekla was born in Buffalo, NY but spent much of her early life growing up in New York and New England. She graduated from Rye Country Day School and went on to graduate from Wheelock College in Boston, MA with a BS in Education, where she went on to teach at Elmwood Franklin School in Buffalo, NY.

She loved her crafts, especially needlepoint, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 where a service will begin at 7:00 pm.

Buffalo Memorial Services will be held on 11AM Wednesday August 3rd in the Chapel of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY 14209.

In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to make a contribution in her honor to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
