Do not write on stone or wood "he was honest" or "he was good".
Write with smoke on a passing breeze seven words, and those words are these:
He lived - he laughed - and he understood.

Theodore Smith, better known as Pete, passed away on May 24, 2015. He was 88 years young. Pete was an avid golfer and spent his retirement years doing only what he loved. He served as a Marine in WWII, lying about his age so that he could stand and fight for our freedom. His passion was life and he was always there to help anyone who needed it. Even though his exterior was sometimes gruff, he had the heart, mind and soul of a poet.
He was not big on ceremony so there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. However he never objected to a celebration. We will be having an informal gathering to do just that. West Park golf course has been kind enough to let us use a room in their facility. We will gather Sunday, May 31, at 4pm on the second floor.
Dad always said: "I am the sum of my experiences and the people I have known". So, please join us in celebration of a life well lived.
