Theresa Clare King

September 26, 1937 – January 5, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa King, our beloved mother who departed from this physical world in her home, with her children around her, on the morning of Friday, January 5, 2024. Born on September 26, 1937, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Terri was raised and married in Philadelphia before landing in idyllic Greenbriar in Fairfax, Virginia in 1967 and then finally retiring with Frank to their beloved Leesburg, Virginia home in 1998 Terri leaves behind a legacy of Love, Family, Laughter, and lasting memories.

Terri was a devoted, and caring mother, known for her tiny stature, big personality & quick tongue. Her unwavering love and selflessness, rooted in the Catholic Church, usually emanated from the kitchen and/or garden of her comforting home. She dedicated her life to nurturing and guiding her family, leaving an indelible mark, albeit sometimes with a wooden spoon, on the hearts and lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to being a loving mother, Terri was a loyal and dedicated wife of 57 years, marrying Francis Xavier King in Philadelphia on July 12 1958. She is surely reunited with Frank in Heaven. Her impact extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and grace.

She was preceded by her husband Francis Xavier. King in 2015 and is survived by her 5 Children & Spouses: Susan Marie Bellamy & David Bellamy, Francis Xavier King Jr. & Kerri Pickett, Peter Samuel King & Dawn Lewis King, Robert Eugene King, and William
Joseph King & Rebecca Ashton-King, who will continue to carry her love and spirit forward.

In addition, Terri's legacy includes 9 grandchildren: Robert, Grace, Noah, Liz, Matt, Emily, Katie, Samuel and Spencer as well as 5 Great-grandchildren Alanna, Annabelle, James, Leo and Lyla.

Terri will be remembered for her love of everything Philadelphia, Avalon and the Jersey shore and her voracious appetite for reading, puzzles, cooking, and gardening.

A memorial service to celebrate Terri's life will be held on Friday January 12, 2024, at 2:30 PM at St John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring a life well-lived.

May Terri's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of
those who knew and loved her.
