A resident of Northern Virginia for the past 15 years passed away at the age of 75 years young at home with his family by his side. Tom was born in Marshall Texas on November 6 th 1945. He was raised in the area of Bay Town Tx. He join the Navy at the age of 17 years old and as he put it "He enjoyed his high school trip to Vietnam. " He served on the minesweeper the USS Gallant, When he returned he met and married the love of his life Sue Ann , they enjoyed 54 years together. After the Navy he work at the Long Beach Ship Yard and was proud to be part of the re-activation of USS New Jersey. They live in California before moving to Virginia, He accepted a Job at VSE Corp and was the President of the Federal group until he retired and the went to work for the Cherokee Nation as a consultant. In the following years he enjoyed his 57' Chevy 210 which he full restored and won many trophies at car shows. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his Wife Sue Ann Dacus of Leesburg VA , His Son Brian Dacus (Nicole) and Grand Children Jordan , Brianna , Logan , Thomas and Aubrey of Hemet, Ca , Grandsons Ian , Joshua and their mother Nicole Evans of Leesburg VA, His siblings James, Paula , Gary ,Kim and their Families in Texas and sister in laws Nancy Mathis and Teri Sisco.
A memorial service will be held on February 11 th at 1 pm at the Colonial Funeral Home in Leeburg VA. Burial will be at the Quantico National Cemetery in early spring. In lieu of flower please donate The Wounded Warrior Foundation in his name.
