Thomas de Leon, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Tom was born on July 29, 1989 in New York City to parents Edward de Leon and Sarah Taliaferro de Leon. Tom was an artist, musician, and a passionate believer in the possibilities of life.

Tom spent most of his childhood in Boston. He and his mother later moved to Northern Virginia, where Tom spent the rest of his life. Tom graduated from Stonebridge High School and got an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Radford University.

Tom was fiercely devoted to his family. When his mother was diagnosed with cancer, Tom was a pillar of strength for her and was with her till her last days. He and Sarah will be interred in a columbarium, together, so that mother and son are reunited once more and for all time. 

Tom was equally devoted to his friends. He was part of a close circle of friends who shared his passion for music and the arts.

Finally, Tom was an advocate for those struggling with mental health issues. He spent several years with Friendship House providing music therapy services.
