Thomas Glenn Dengler, 59, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 16. He was born in 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa. He married his wife Sue in 1978, and they moved to Colorado. Tom was in construction all of his life, building and remodeling homes as well as commercial development. Through the years, he oversaw his own construction companies, and worked for various builders, most recently Paradigm Building Group.
Tom and Sue moved to California where they raised their family for 15 years, serving in various local churches. In 2001, they moved to Hawaii to assist in planting a church on the island of Maui. From there they moved to Minnesota in 2006 and then to Leesburg, VA in 2008. He was very involved in serving at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, VA.
Tom was a devoted husband and father, he loved to serve his family and the church. He was a man of integrity with a servants heart and a deep love for the Lord. His ultimate goal was to glorify God in all he did.
Tom is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue Dengler of Leesburg, VA. They have three children; Kellen Dengler of Franklin, TN, Krista Dengler and Kara Dengler of Leesburg, VA. They are blessed with one daughter-in law, Emily Dengler and one granddaughter, Ruby Dengler, both of Franklin, TN. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Howard Dengler; and is survived by his mother, Verna Mae Dengler of Cedar Falls, IA. He has three siblings, Judy Dengler of Palm Desert, CA; Jim Dengler of Waterloo, IA; Pam Dengler of Cedar Falls, IA; and sister-in-law Ardi Dengler of Waterloo, IA.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Friday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Chapel, 742 Miller Dr. SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Blue Ridge Hospice in memory of Tom.
