In Loving Memory

Thomas Starkey, 87, of Leesburg, VA, was promoted to Glory on October 25, 2016 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne, VA after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 67 years, Ann Elaine (Doores) Starkey, his daughters, Judy Starkey Brittle (Michael) of Sterling, Carol Starkey Fraiser (Danny)  of  Sierra Vista, AZ  and his sons, Thomas C. Starkey (Patricia) of Lovettsville and Mark Hackley of  Huachuca City, AZ.

He is survived by a sister, Virginia Ruth Murphy of Sterling and a brother, Joseph Starkey of Ashburn.

Tom was preceded in death by daughter, Peggy Yvonne Starkey, son, Brian Lee Wooley, sister, Mary Starkey Demory and brother, James Starkey.  Also preceded in death were two half sisters and two half  brothers.

Tom was born on July 23, 1929 in Loudoun County to Rodney Temple and Mary Etta Starkey.  He lived his entire life in Loudoun County.  Tom retired from employment with Arlington County after 33 years of service and remained in Leesburg until his death.

Tom married his high school sweetheart, Ann Doores Starkey on July 16, 1949.  They shared 67 years of marriage.  They have 6 grandchildren, Michelle Brittle Lehtonen, Amanda Brittle Haines, Danielle Fraiser, Kimberly Lawrence, Lyndsay Wooley-Perott and Brian Wooley.  They also have six great grandchildren.

Tom was a kind and giving person who cared for everyone.  He was the best husband and father in the world and loved by all.  He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg with visitation from 11 am to 12 pm and the funeral service immediately following at 12 noon.
