Thomas (Tom) Ray Wise, 65, of Purcellville, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4 th , 2021, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Wise; his brother Billy Wise and sister Larilee Martin; his sons Jason Wise (Natalie) and Jordan Wise (Brittany); grandchildren Carmen, Norah, Owen and Aubrey; his first wife Julie; and many close friends.
Tom was born on February 15, 1956, to the late Adelbert J. and Lucille C. Wise of Warren, OH. Upon graduation from Warren G. Harding Senior High School in 1974, Tom went directly into the Air Force where he served for four and a half years. He returned home to Warren to attend college at Youngstown State University where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, Tom worked in computer systems with various Government contractors in the National Capital area, most recently as a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst with Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics.
Tom's love of music started at a young age as a trombonist with the Harding High School Raider Band. He played professionally in many venues with the New Hots Jazz Orchestra and toured in France with the group. Tom also played in and was band manager for many years for the Loudoun Jazz Ensemble, performing at many events around the area including the Senior Senior Prom of the Herndon Rotary. Tom had a beautiful tenor voice and often sang with these groups, appearing as a soloist for the Herndon Towne Square Singers. Tom loved to dance, Swing and Contra, at Glen Echo's Spanish Ballroom, dance camps and galas around the country.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Alzheimers Foundation and/ or Capital Caring Hospice of Leesburg.
Tom's family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for him, including the staff at Loudoun County Mental Health, CARE of Alexandria, Warm Heart Assisted Living Facility of Mt. Airy, MD, Capital Caring of Leesburg, and Church of the Holy Spirit in Leesburg Virginia, which facilitated his move to Muintearas House and provided him with encouragement and counsel,.
There will be a private interment with military honors and a celebration of life, date to be announced later.
