Obituary
Thressa Elizabeth Harris Hogan departed this life unexpectedly at Loudoun Inova
Hospital in Lansdowne ,Va. on August 6, 2021.Thressa was born on April 15,1964
to Elizabeth Harris and the late Elder Caroll Newman. She was born and raised in
Loudoun County, Va.
She attended Loudoun County Public Schools in her earlier years and graduated
from South Lakes High School in Reston, Va. In 1982. On August 19, 1993 , she
had a beautiful baby daughter, Dysheeka Harris. In 2003 she met and married
the love of her life, her devoted husband, Jerry L. Hogan.
She was a certified nurse assistant and worked at several medical facilities.
Thressa was also a self employed home daycare provider for several years. She
so loved her children. Thressa later became a full time homemaker for her family
due to her declining health. She devoted her life to the Lord many years ago.
She was currently attending online services with Pastor Kim Jernigan, Pastor
of Lighthouse Outreach Ministry.
She loved many things in life such a cooking, spending time with the family,
especially her grandchildren and definitely fishing and hosting cookouts.
Thressa was well spoken of and loved by many. Thressa is preceded in death
by her father, Elder Carroll Newman, stepdaughter, Latasha Hogan, aunt,
Mary Harris, 3 uncles , Pete , Al, and Herbert Harris, brother-in-law, Patrick
Nickens and her sister-in-law Kristen Harris. She was also preceded in death
by a very special friend, Jacqueline Hogan Frye.
She leaves to mourn her devoted and loving husband of 18 years

2 sisters, Shirley Harris and Deborah Harris Nickens (Patrick-deceased)
3 brothers, Ricky, George and Kenneth Harris, 6 step daughters,
Lytasha (deceased) Gerri , Latoya , Leticia , Jennifer Hogan, Crystal and
Christine Woodson and 2 loving grandchildren, Xavier Love and Roman Harris
3 step great grandchildren, 3 Uncles, Bill, Jake and James Harris,3
Sister-in-laws, Janice Hogan, Diane Hogan and Mary Jane Harris
3 brothers-in-law, David , Leon Hogan Jr. and Leonard Hogan, special
friends , Lynn Dade and Antoinette Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews
and friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday August 27, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 where a service will begin at 11:00 am.
