Tina Marie Kennedy passed away at home in Leesburg, Virginia on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the age of 59. The cause was from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Tina would like for all to know; this is a disease that must be conquered in our lifetime to prevent others from suffering.
Tina was born on March 22, 1960 in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1978 and attended Drexel University and Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. Tina had a successful career as an award-winning Interior Designer for commercial building spaces.
While living in Washington D.C, Tina met her husband Keith Kennedy in April of 1981. After dating, Tina relocated to San Francisco, California where Keith resided. They were married in San Francisco, California on October 16, 1982 and soon after, had three daughters; Erika, Kathryn and Ashley.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Kennedy and daughters Erika Kennedy, Kathryn (Kennedy) Beaudin and Ashley Kennedy; her mother Sandra (Kochanowski) Thomas, step father John Thomas; her siblings Tracy Mann, Troy Mann, Vicki (Thomas) Russ, Keni Thomas; sister-in-law, Karen Mann; brother-in-law, Michael Russ; mother-in-law, Fern Kennedy; sisters-in-law Coleen Isensee, Diane Bever; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Ronald Eugene Mann; sister Danielle (Mann) Kurtzer; brothers-in-law Michael Kurtzer, Harry Isensee; nephew Kraig Isensee.
In her free time, she enjoyed celebrating her passion of art through painting, ceramics, listening to music, wine tasting and eating great food with her family. She is also a Kansas City Chiefs fan and never misses a game.
Family and friends are invited to funeral services on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2:00pm at St. James' Episcopal Church in Leesburg, Virginia; followed by a Celebration of Life party at Stone Tower Winery. Please wear your favorite color and bring a picture to share. Flowers can be sent to St. James Episcopal Church or donations made to AnswerALS.org or to the ALS Association in her name.
