Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Victoria Josephine Conrow, lovingly know as Vicki, on Tuesday November 29, 2022, age 78. Vicki was born on November 13, 1944 in Orange,  California to Claude 'Burton' Sheffner and Edythe Alta (Jones) Sheffner and lived in Manassas Park, Virginia at the time of her passing.

Vicki shared her childhood and life with two older sisters, Becky and Patti, whom she loved dearly. The family moved to Hay Springs, Nebraska for a number of years following the end of WW2, before moving back to Anaheim California. Vicki graduated from High School in 1963. She enjoyed singing in school choirs and was a Rainbow Girl with her sisters. The family lived close to Huntington beach and enjoyed spending time there all year round. Baseball was another pass time with Angel's stadium being only a few blocks away. Family time was important with Christmas being a favorite. They would do a Christmas craft, have to sing a song or do a skit on Christmas Eve where they were allowed to open one present and the girls always had matching pajamas.

On August 11, 1968, Vicki married the love of her life Dennis George Conrow. They met in middle school and enjoyed the beach together with Dennis being a surfer. Together they would listen to a band called the Pendletons who soon became known as the Beach Boys. Her love of music continued with Kenny Rogers, Patsy Kline and Garth Brooks as some of her favorites.

Vicki and Dennis were married for 54 years and shared five children - Tim, Denise, Shellie, Jeff and Justin. She had nine grandchildren - Jericca, Dennis, Dakota, ToriJo, Austin, Amber, Gavin, Tim Jr. and Naya - and two great grandchildren - Rylie and Keagan. She will be remembered for her love of family events and gatherings, whether it was going to her kid's sporting events, organizing cheerleaders for football games, going to amusement parks and hosting Halloween and Christmas parties. After the family3moved to Virginia, trips to the Outer Banks in North Caroline became a favorite, hopefully with a taste of lobster and blue crabs, as did spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren attending their events, playing cards, bowling, going to the movies, to the pool and craft shows. Family also meant animals, she had the greatest love for cats but the family also enjoyed several dogs and a duck and a pig in the mix.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents Burton and Edythe and her sister Patti. Vicki leaves behind her husband Dennis, her children Tim (Pia), Denise (Mark), Shellie, Jeff and Justin (Lisa Marie), grandchildren Jericca, Dennis, Dakota, ToriJo, Austin, Amber, Gavin, Tim Jr. and Naya, great grandchildren Rylie and Keagan, and her sister Becky. She will be sadly missed.

With love from Becky - "Vicki was my rock, she was always there for me. Always an open door to family and friends, children of abuse and no home. I could call anytime day or night, be it a problem, new recipe, TV shows, bowling or just to talk about kids or grandkids. Her family and Denny were the most important thing in her life. I have so many wonderful memories of her. She was a very special person and I'm so proud to have had the honor of being her sister."
