Walter A. Mason of Ashburn, VA passed away on Monday, August 4, 2008. He was born in Kentucky on September 14, 1922 to the late Joseph and Mary (Miller) Mason.

Mr. Mason was enlisted in the United States Air Force. While serving his country he was awarded numerous ribbons and medals which include The Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Victory Medal, WWII Occupation Medal (Germany and Japan), Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the UN Service Medal.

Mr. Mason was employed with the U.S. Postal Service.

Left behind to carry on his memories are his daughters; Debra Kay Geihtbrock of FL, Vickie Rae Quimby of MD, Kathy Joan Davidson of VA, Carol Ann Mason of VA, Anita Gay Crowe of VA, Karen Sue Parlier of VA, Brenda Louise DiBari of NY, and son Ronald Dean Mason of VA. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and sisters Dorothy Hoagland of FL, Edna Denekas of IL and brother George Mason of KY.

Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A service will immediately follow starting at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 11:00 am.
