Wayne Douglas Fox of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away on March 25, 2019 at the young age of 82. His family promised to never call him "old man" again, after he celebrated his 80 th birthday. He will be remembered as Pops to everyone, as caring, dependable and loving. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Ettie Payne Fox, father and mother Roger and Margaret Fox, his loving grandmother who raised him, Lula Legge and son Billy Owens. He is survived by his children, Cheryl Owens, Shelby Johnston, Timmy Owens and Stephen Fox. He loved his grandchildren, Briana Owens, Janell Holmes, Eric Johnston, McKenzie Owens, Amber Owens, Demi Owens, and Tucker Fox, along with many great grandchildren, including Darren and Miranda Holmes.
After graduating from Leesburg High School, Wayne began working for C&P Telephone before joining the Army, he returned to C&P after leaving the Army and worked for them for 36 years. He loved baseball, whether it was playing, watching or being an umpire. You could often find him along the river catching fish. Later in life he became an avid bowler joining leagues in both Leesburg, VA and Charles Town, WV. He was known for going out dancing on Saturday nights and opening the door to his home to everyone.
Family visitation will occur on Sunday March 31 from 1:00- 3:00 PM followed by a service at 11:00 AM on Monday April 1 at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA. More information can be obtained by visiting www.colonialfuneralhome.com.
