Obituary

William McLawhorn "Mac" of Ashburn, VA (formerly of Warren Township, N.J.) passed away on March 18, 2013 at the age of 93. Born on April 8, 1919 to parents Ida Sue and Alex , he was the younger brother to his four sisters: Nina, Madeline, Louvenia and Mabel.


Mac and Helen, his wife of 68 years, were blessed with three children: Linda Rae, Ronald Gene (deceased), and Vikki Lynn. He is survived by his six granddaughters: Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, Sheila Reagan, Vikki, and Wendy.

Mac was an Eastern Airlines Pilot for 35 years. He was a V.F.W. member having served as a lieutenant in the 8th U.S. Air Force, 351st Bomber Group in World War II. He was an active member of the Union Village Methodist Church, the Watchung Hills Elks Lodge, the Am. Legion Post, the Boy Scout Council, and the Warren Township Lions Club who honored him with a Lifetime Membership.
Inurnment will be at the Garden of Folded Wings, a columbarium honoring the 8th Air Force in Pooler, GA. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in Mac's name to Galilee United Methodist Church, 45425 Winding Road, Sterling, VA, 20165.
