William Moore

William Lee Moore, 88, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at Cedar Village in Mason, Ohio. A retired federal employee, Lee lived a life marked by faith, humility, and a deep love for his family and others.

He was born in 1937 at Fort Monroe, Virginia, to Lt. Col. Charles F. Moore and Esther H. Moore. Lee was a devoted husband, dad and member of Leesburg Baptist Church for 54 years, where he faithfully served as a choir member and greeter. A greeter at heart, Lee loved people and never met a stranger. Whether welcoming others at church, singing in the choir, or stopping to talk with someone while out for a walk, he took genuine joy in connecting with others and making them feel seen and welcome.A committed Baptist Christian, Lee lived his faith quietly and consistently, leading by example through kindness, integrity, and grace. He was known for his mild manner, gentle spirit, and contented nature. He never complained, never asked for anything, and treated everyone with warmth and respect. Those who knew him loved him, and he was truly a friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara S. Moore; his parents, Charles and Esther Moore; and his brother, John C. Moore.Lee is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Jeff Allgor of Mason, Ohio, and his cherished grandchildren: Matt and wife, Kim Allgor of Washington, D.C.; Katie Allgor of Covington, Kentucky; Chris Allgor and his wife, Katie, of Columbus, Ohio; and Cody Allgor of Columbus, Ohio. He deeply loved his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, and his pride in them was evident to all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leesburg Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. His warm smile and big blue eyes will be deeply missed.
