Willie Lee "Bill" or "Billy" McClellan was born August 17, 1936, the second son to Lester A. and Beulah McClellan. He was raised on Red Hill Farm along with his brother, Alvin, and sister, Ina.
He attended Aldie School and later Loudoun County High School. He and his classmates were the first graduating class from Loudoun County High.
He married the late Charlotte George in 1958. Soon after their marriage, he was drafted into the Army. After boot camp and many weekends driving from North Carolina to Virginia to see Charlotte, he was stationed in Germany; they were blessed with a daughter, Betty Lee.
He was a master carpenter. He and his brother partnered and built many fine homes and additions in Loudoun County throughout the years. He was always a perfectionist paying great attention to detail. There was nothing he could not repair or fix.
Golf was a favorite past time for Bill. Not only was it a form of relaxation, and sometimes frustration, but an opportunity to spend quality time with Betty Lee and her husband, Danny. Many good times were spent searching for golf balls.
One of the greatest joys in Bill and Charlotte's life came when their only grandson, Dylan, was born. He was the perfect grandfather, including chauffer and number one fan of Dylan in sports and school. Granddad and Dylan enjoyed spending time together creating many lasting memories. Dylan brought him great pleasure.
He was a wonderful husband, dad, father-in-law, granddad, brother and uncle. He was kind, honest, patient, generous, a true gentlemen in every senses of the word and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
