It is with profound sadness that we announce that Yvonne Mirriam Kamfwa, born on September
20, 1981 in Durban, South Africa, passed away in the early hours of March 28, 2025. Yvonne is
survived by her husband, Ndashye Kamfwa; her daughter, Petrolla Kamfwa; her son, Timothy
Kamfwa; her mother Annah Khoza; her sisters Thandi Khoza, Abby Khoza, Charity Lunda and
her brother David Khoza.
She is preceded in death by her father Oliva Khoza. Yvonne completed her high school education
in Southern Africa. She completed her Associates degree at Northern Virginia Community
College. In the semester leading up to her cancer diagnosis, she was scheduled to complete her
Bachelor's degree. While pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Information Systems at George
Mason University, she also took pride and joy in being a full time employee at the George
Washington University in the Human Resources Department as a HRIS Associate.
Beyond everything, Yvonne Khoza was a great person, with a sincere heart, a driven mind, and
beautiful smile. Yvonne found joy in spending time with her family, trying new foods and
activities, challenging her coworkers to walking competitions, and sharing light with the people
around her.
A memorial service will take place from 10am - 12pm on Friday April 4 at Colonial Funeral Home.
