IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia Lynn
Maynard
December 4, 1970 – July 6, 2024
Cynthia Lynn Maynard Amorocho, 53, passed away in her home in Leesburg, Virginia on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Although Cynthia was born in Bogotá, Colombia to César Amorocho and Emojean Amorocho Hamm, she always considered Cali, Colombia her hometown. Salsa music and dancing, pan de bonos, Zumba and her soccer team, los Cafeteros, were entrenched in her Caleña blood. She attended el Colegio Bolivar until middle school. She relocated with her mother to West Carrollton, Ohio and graduated from West Carrollton High School. After high school she earned a Business degree from Wright State University. While attending college, she worked for LexisNexis where she met her former husband, William Maynard. Her greatest love and achievement was her son Max Maynard. She was a devoted fan of Max's athletic events from youth football through high school football - with her Riverside family.
A few years later, a career move brought the family to Leesburg, Virginia. She loved her new home and neighbors and working out with her Zumba buddies. Cynthia enjoyed life to the fullest with her many friends, family, and dog Luna. Cynthia was smart, outgoing, and had a great sense of humor. She built a successful career in data services sales for corporate and government organizations. Cynthia enjoyed traveling and cherished the many cultures and food she experienced. In addition to her parents, former husband, and cherished son mentioned above, she is survived by her sister Sherry, brother-in-law Brent, sister-in-law Karen, and her nieces and nephew, Cleo, Amanda, and Michael. She is also survived by her Aunt Joyce (husband Ottis), her Tio Nestor (wife Stella), her stepmother Clarita and step siblings Lina and Ivan.
