With profound sadness we announce the passing Emory Fuller, of Sterling, VA, our loving and devoted father and grandfather on June 22, 2024.
Emory Garland Fuller was born to Bevley Fuller and Sophie Ellen Fuller on July 26, 1940, in Haysi, VA. He was raised in Haysi, VA and graduated from Haysi High School. After high school he joined the US Air Force where he served for 4 years. He was a part of the Honor Guard and attended Presidential inaugurations and inaugural balls. He finished his military service working at the Pentagon.
During his service time, he met his wife-to-be Gail Karen Righter of Cheverly, MD. Emory and Gail were married on October 21,1963 at Cheverly United Methodist Church. They were married for 58 loving years at the time of Gail's passing in 2022.
Emory went on to work for the US Census Bureau for more than 30 years, where he was a cherished employee.
Emory's favorite hobbies were fishing with friends and family, tending his amazing vegetable garden, and singing and playing his guitar for his family. He was a loving father and grandfather and adored attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events throughout his life. He enjoyed his family reunions every year in Haysi, VA with his enormous extended family and family beach vacations where he taught his children to swim, dive and float.
