We bid farewell to Janice Barton Haydu who departed this world on July 24, 2024 in Ashburn Virginia surrounded by her family.

Janice was born on October 14, 1957 in Reform, Alabama.  She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama at Jacksonville State.   She met and married her husband Mark in 1985 in Pensacola, Florida.   Janice and her husband's careers took her to many locations from Florida to California, Oregon, and Virginia.

Throughout these relocations she remained dedicated to her children.  She volunteered at their schools and served on the PTA.  She was an assistant girl scout troop leader and baseball and soccer team mom.  Janice loved nature and camped and hiked through many national parks with her husband and children .

She walked through life with beauty and warmth and touched all she met with grace and kindness.  She met the adversity of her final illness with a gentle strength.

Janice was preceded in death by her father William Barton.  She is survived by her husband of 38 years Mark; her son Keith and his wife Kassandrine, her daughter Hilary and her fiancé Bobby Hidy; her mother Virginia Barton; her sisters Cheryl (Scot) Parker and Joyce (Steffen) Segewitz; her brother Chris (Jennifer) Barton; and by a lifelong coterie of friends and loving extended family

In lieu of flowers, people are welcome to make donations to the American Cancer Society, a charity that was important to Janice
