Mary M. Dusatko, formerly of Vienna, VA, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2020 at Ashby Ponds Retirement Community.

Mary received a BS from St. John's School of Nursing in Queens, NY, and an MS in Nursing from Catholic University of America, Wash., DC. She worked in several hospital settings, performed community nursing with Visiting Nurse Services of New York, taught nursing in Northern Virginia Community College and was supervisor of the Health Unit of the Federal Reserve Board in Wash., DC, for many years.

Mary was a member of the Vienna (VA) Choral Society, Encore Creativity for Older Adults, The Golden Ray Tap Dancers and the G-Pac Social Club. She enjoyed traveling, choral singing, line and step dancing and won awards as an Irish step-dancer in her early years.  She also made call backs for the Radio City Rockettes, though her father was not keen on her continuing.

Mary was a huge fan of bad jokes. She enjoyed having her family tell jokes before Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.  One of her favorites was, "Little Johnny goes off to Catholic school for his first day.  The nun comes by his desk and looks at Johnny and says, 'Johnny, where is GOD?' Little Johnny looks up at her blankly; the nun again says, 'Johnny, where is GOD?' Johnny bursts out crying and runs home. His mother asks, 'Johnny, what is the matter?' Little Johnny says, 'Mum, they've lost God and they're blaming me'.  Mary had a large list saved of bad jokes that always made her family laugh.

Mary is predeceased by her parents, her husband, John Dusatko, and her brother, James McGrory. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kaleen Harrison, her husband, Kevin Harrison, and grandchildren, Connor and Tyler Harrison; her daughter, Lizanna Barringer, and her husband, Dave Barringer; her sister, Sister Eileen McGrory, and nephews, James McGrory, Bryan McGrory, Sean McGrory, Martin McGrory, Kevin McGrory, Steve Rudis, and nieces Micheala Rudis and Suzanne Devaney.

Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, a Memorial Mass will be arranged at a later date. For those so inclined, in this time of COVID-19, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Mary to an organization of your choice that is feeding the hungry during the pandemic.
